FAQs

What is the difference between microblading and micropigmentation?2020-07-01T22:27:01+02:00

Technically, microblading is a form of micropigmentation, but we use a microblade to draw individual hairlines by hand. Micropigmentation specialists use a permanent makeup machine, which is similar to a tattoo machine, but penetrates less deeply into the skin.

How long does the healing take?2020-07-01T22:27:16+02:00

The entire healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, during which time slight incrustations may occur. However, you do not have to hide from the world during this time. They can carry out their daily activities without any problems. Please note that your eyebrows will appear darker and stronger immediately after the treatment, but will soften by about 30% to a natural looking and beautiful color within 2 weeks. Eyeliner and lips will be swollen for about 2 days after the treatment.

How long does permanent makeup last?2020-07-01T22:27:32+02:00

Permanent makeup will last about 1-3 years. Touch-ups are recommended every 12 to 18 months to achieve the desired effect.

Does the treatment hurt?2020-07-01T22:27:47+02:00

Everyone has a slightly different pain threshold. Most clients say you can take it. It can sometimes be a bit unpleasant, but I have even had some clients fall asleep during treatment. An external anaesthetic is used before and during the procedure to ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible.

What is permanent makeup2020-07-01T22:28:01+02:00

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique in which pigments are deposited in the dermis layer (also called dermis) of the skin. Unlike traditional tattoo artists, permanent makeup artists work very superficially in the skin and use a pigment that is broken down over time. This pigment gradually fades in the skin. Cosmetic tattooing is a fantastic way to mimic the look of naturally applied makeup and can be very time saving for those who have difficulty applying their makeup on a daily basis.

How long does the treatment take?2020-07-01T22:28:59+02:00

It usually takes 2-3 hours, with most of the time spent going through colors and drawing eyebrow shapes. The actual micropigmentation part / microblading part takes 30-90 minutes.

How should I prepare for the treatment?2020-07-01T22:29:22+02:00

In the week before your appointment I recommend avoiding blood thinners, aspirin, alcohol or the use of retinol creams.

Can I get PMU treatment during pregnancy?2020-07-01T22:29:48+02:00

No, I do not recommend permanent makeup treatment during pregnancy or lactation.

Who should not get permanent makeup treatment?2020-07-01T22:30:13+02:00

I do not offer PMU treatment to the following individuals: under 18 years of age, pregnant or nursing, if you suffer from diabetes, glaucoma, skin diseases such as shingles, psoriasis or eczema in the treatment area, makeup allergies, keloid disorder, HIV/hepatitis, skin cancer, hemophilia, or if you are taking skin medications such as Ro-Accutain and steroids.

Does a microblading treatment of the eyebrows look like real hair?2020-07-01T22:30:39+02:00

Yes! Since I draw every hairline by hand, you will marvel at this precise technique.

What happens to my natural eyebrows?2020-07-01T22:31:03+02:00

I always try to work as much as possible with your natural eyebrow shape and hair. This leads to a more natural result and less “maintenance” for you. You will need to pluck/wax around the brow shape occasionally, but this is very easy as you now have your new defined brow shape that you need to follow.

When should I do a touch-up? How much does it cost?2020-07-01T22:33:50+02:00

I offer a free rectification between 4-8 weeks after your appointment. After that I charge a fee.

What should be taken into account in the aftercare?2020-07-01T22:34:28+02:00

Stay out of the sun and water while your microblading heals. Avoid chlorine, exfoliating creams and sun exposure. They can cause your color to fade. For after-treatment you can also use wound healing creams such as Tyrosur Gel or Bepanthen by applying a thin layer 2-3 times a day.
